Install Management Service

You are here:

Minimum Requirements

  • Windows Server 2016
    • Preferably, this operating system should match the highest level in your environment. For example, if you will manage Windows Server 2019 servers, then the management server should be running Windows Server 2019.
  • .NET Framework 4.8 or greater

  1. From the management server, double-click the setup file.
  2. If prompted, click Yes to the User Account Control prompt as the installation routine will need elevated privileges.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Read and accept the License Agreement before clicking Next.
  5. Accept the default installation folder or click on the Browse button to choose a new folder.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Under Application Pool Identity put in the low privilege domain account that the IIS application pool will run under. This account will be used to also grant access to the custom tools share. Back end API calls to the management service will be limited to this account only.

Under Web Server IP put in the IP address of each web server that will be part of this instance of System Frontier. Back end API calls to the management service will be limited to these addresses. NOTE: If IPv6 is enabled and installing on the same machine as the web server, you can use the loopback address ::1.
